I think your love of Video Games could get you where you want to go. Keep paying attention to the jobs we post. Some are Focus Groups and they don’t care if you are under 18. I would work on increasing your knowledge. you can start studying at any time in your life. Consider our game tester course. Create maps for games. (the unreal engine is used in a lot of schools) Find information on Video games. Build that resume so that when you are 18, you are a great candidate for a game tester. Thanks for your Question.

We have had a lot of sub-18 year olds take our course and get information on how they can break into the industry.
I am glad to see that you want to be in the industry.

i really wanted to become a game tester as from a starting early age i always use to dream about being a game tester and i have spent a lot of time in gaming since i was in class 7th i started my gaming from that class and until now also as i’m going in class 11th and i have decided to complete my education till 12th grade and after that i’m choosing a career for my life and that is game testing ! game testing is not just about finding bugs or glitches, its about enjoying the given task and no matter what ever the salary maybe but its not worth the happiness you had while testing it 1st in the world !

Hey, i am 17 and i have been testing games for a while and figured i might as well get payed for it. I have been in quite a few small time closed betas and alphas already but two of the most well known games that i have gotten into the alphas for were ArcheAge and Trove both published by Trion. I am currently attempting to get into a couple more but with no money to buy into the testing phases it’s difficult.

Hello, my name is Jacob. After reading many different articles on various websites I have decided that I would like to be a game tester. Well I can see one major problem in this, I’m only 14. Now my real goal is to actually make games, that’s why during my free time I study HTML 5, Visual Basics, and c++. The real reason I want to hopefully find an internship or job with a company to test their games is to get some contact higher up in the industry. Seeing how as a tester I will be reporting back to developers of the sort. So what better way to get to talk to them then hopefully jump start my programming career later. I also understand how much of responsibility it will be to test games and report bugs on time. I also understand my goal isn’t to just play the game, really my goal is to sorta break the game. I’m currently in 7th grade of now, and I know a lot about computer and programming of the sorts. It’s my dream to work at Bethesda. I try to be very descriptive and have excellent grammar as that is very important in this profession.

Some of the expos will let people less than 18 year old, into the expo. Expos are a good way to make contacts. Find a free game engine and work on designing levels. Look at colleges that have a game design program, study what the classes are teaching.

Although it sounds like fun (and probably is), you do have to work.

There are some qualifications and requirements needed in order for you to become one of
those guys who get paid by simply playing video games.
Then you should become a Play – Station 3 tester and have fun testing
    all those PS3 games.

I have been playing video games since a very young age. I played a lot of mario games on my game cube and continued playing ben 10 on PS2, Mario kart/COD and wii sports resort on my Wii and now I have recently built my PC. I have about 100 games which i love to play (mainly CS) and i would love to be a video game tester!

I don’t know how many positions there are for under 18 year olds. Try to apply. Keep studying. Play with map making, the different engines, etc. Network with those in the industry.
